2011 Stallion Licensing Vechta - Showjumping Stallions

This year the crop of two year old jumping stallions were of particularly good quality and this was reflected in the prices achieved in the auction after the licensing. Sometimes you have to keep reminding yourself that these are only two year old horses. Not only do these stallions show plenty of scope of the fences but their movement in all gaits is of the same quality as many of the dressage stallions. The Champion this year was by the world famous successful jumping sire, Diamant de Semilly. We haven't seen many of his youngsters at Vechta but the breeders are starting to show a liking for him and we expect to see more in the next few years. The Reserve Champion was by Chacco Blue who usually has a few in the final. He was certainly a stunning example of this popular stallion's offspring and he is making his mark as a consistent producer of quality stock.

Neither the Champion or the Reserve were sold at the auction so it will be interesting to see where they stand in 2012.
